My darling friend Cat, who I have known for more 15 years, went and got herself married. We spent our teenage and young adult years flitting back and forth between Melbourne and Adelaide for each other's big birthdays and events, parties, music festivals (WOMAD), celebrations, breakups, and sometimes just for a boozy lunch..any excuse really! Cat is one of the loveliest, most gorgeous and giving people I've ever met. When she met Scotty years ago, I was always in awe of how they made it work. Cat being a sound tech and working late night gigs would often finish work around the time that Scotty would be getting up for work as a pastry chef. They worked completely opposite schedules for years, and being the committed and driven people they are, they worked hard too. But always, they made time for each other. They would make time for holidays and weekends away when they could, and they would make time for the little things like getting up early to have breakfast together or grabbing 5 minutes between work schedules when they could. The love was so obvious from day one.
I have always said that the crowd and vibe at a wedding is a true reflection of the couple. Well. These two are clearly Adelaide's favourite couple. Their ceremony was in a park close by to where Scott grew up, and the reception and celebration was held in Cat's parents' back garden, which had been transformed into a fairyland. Everyone there was bubbling with happiness, and felt like the luckiest guests alive to have been a part of Cat and Scott's big day.
Congratulations darlings xxx
